Per his wife Joan, Kirby passed away in March 2002. He received a Bachelor degree from Albion and a Masters in Environmental Education from UofMich. He was a Viet Nam vet and owned a landscaping business in Lansing for many years. He was married to Joan and sons John and David survive him. Kirby enjoyed fishing up north.

If  Kirby was your friend, you could not have had a better friend!   A truly great person.

I remember Kirby's wonderful sense of humor and him saying with a smile  "I am Kirby Cooper from Connecticut".

Kirby and I mowed lawns together for several summers.  He had moved in to a new house which had a large gang mower and Kirby knew I mowed lawns so we got together and had a thriving business. Will never forget going to his house to see the 72" gang mower. Kirby was showing me his backyard and before he could warn me one of two of their geese's starting chasing and biting me.  Never ran so fast in my life and Kirby thought it was halarious. We had a lot of  fun those summers and got to know Kirby real well, he was always in a good mood and worked his butt off and was a great guy.  I miss him.

Kirby was such a great friend to me after joining Southfield Presbyterian Church. We had a large youth group and so many precious members who had sooo much fun together! I am sorry he is gone.
