I saw this email from her friend Pat after I sent the other and realized that I should have provided more info to you than just the date she left this earth.
Shari (Northup) Anderson left us to be with Jesus on October 2, 2018 at the age of 73, in Boynton Beach FL surrounded by many loved ones.
Florida was where she lived for many years (she moved there in 1990) but she always considered Michigan to be her home. She loved it here and came to visit 1-2 times a year. She also liked to travel to see her grandkids in NJ on a regular basis and considered herself fortunate to visit places around the world like Costa Rica, Europe, Sweden, Alaska, Hawaii, and other states in the US with her mother, daughter and friends.
Though she survived a major heart attack in 1996 and had some other non life-threatening health concerns over the years, none of that really kept her from working, doing things she liked and travelling... In 2016, it became too difficult for her to travel and live in her home, due to mobility issues. She sold her house and moved to a nearby Independent Living community. She was active in the community by participating in bible study, volunteering to do the data input for the local info channel for the residents, attending the social gatherings and she really loved that lifestyle...sure wish I could have convinced her to move there years earlier! She liked do needlepoint/cross stitch/crewel in her free time.
She is survived by her mother Julie Sobolewski, also of Boynton Beach FL, brothers Brad Sobolewski (Maureen) in CO and Scott Sobolewski (Debbie) in MI; her daughter Juli Springfield (Randy) in MI; her son James Anderson and 2 grandchildren Lindsay and Brendan Anderson in NJ. She was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC (metastatic breast cancer) in November of 2017. She did keep her awesome sense of humor, her thoughtful generous giving and the most positive attitude through all the specialist/doctor visits, treatments, hospital stays and hospice care...until the very end.
Although we were unable to honor her wishes to be a Gift of Life donor, her wishes for cremation and no services were honored. Her cremains will go with me to Hawaii later this year, where she wished to be scattered.
Thank you for honoring my precious mother, by sharing this with those she knew from Southfield High Class of 62.
