SAROTTE, Gail Gail Marie Sarotte, after a ten-year struggle with breast cancer, died at home surrounded by family and friends. Gail was born in Detroit in 1944 to Mary Michnal Trevena and Francis Trevena. After receiving her MSW at Wayne State University, she was an educational social worker in schools in northern New Jersey and Cobb County schools, Georgia. She was knowledgeable and devoted to her students, friends and family. She cared passionately about protecting animals from abandonment and abuse. Gail's parents and brother, Gary Trevena, predeceased her. Her husband, Frank Sarotte, daughter and son in law, Mary Sarotte and Mark Schiefsky and son, Steven Sarottee are suffering a tremendous loss. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26 at Emerson Unitarian Church, Marietta.
